2002-2003Genesis
Back in 2002 Billy Wood (Operations Director) was helping at dance music events around Brighton. This got him into building sound systems. These proved popular and he got asked to build some for another local crew. He moved into Scream Studios and got stuck into his first bandpass-horn. The speaker was measured on MLSSA at 105dB (1w/1m).
2004 Early Doors
By 2004 he was designing the next version of his bandpass-horn. These were used for Legends of the Dark Black at the Event II (2000 cap) and quite a lot of car shows. At this point he started selling quite a few
Koalas as stage monitors. He also started using a factory in Partridge Green for the woodwork and painting.
2006 The Big Heavy
In 2006 a client set Billy the challenge to design the worlds smallest double 18". It looked great but wasn't that loud. In the end it just got used at a few club nights at Concorde 2. We did have fun with sticking it in the back of a Smart Car and rinsing DnB through the North Laines! The earlier models were now getting used on the live circuit.
2008 Traction Sound
At this time Billy was doing quite a lot of install work. He discovered that many venues wanted a good quality bass bin with out spending stupid money. One of the local live sound companies was also badgering him for more loudspeakers. So he started building sound systems again. The Zeus Mk4 is based on his 2004 design in a larger, tweaked cabinet.
